Bazargan border terminal besides Turkey is located in western Azerbaijan province near Bazargan city. The distance between Bazargan border terminal and Orumiyeh city, western Azerbaijan capital, is 301 km.
This terminal is constructed in zero border line with Turkey and has beautiful scene with Ararat Mountain.

Available figures and census show considerable percent of trucks carrying import goods to country enter through ground sources via Bazargan border. Also, exit trucks through Bazargan border are considerable. Half of buses passage carrying passengers ground based borders, is carried out by Bazargan border. In terms of goods transit to Europe and vice versa also considerable portion refers to Bazargan border. Thus, with regard to this border point’s importance and considerable passengers and goods transactions growing, Bazargan border terminal construction operation started since Tir 1998 after finishing project studies.

Neighboring with Azerbaijan, Turkey and Iraq republic countries has led western Azerbaijan province to become one of the major centers for roadway goods and passengers transportation fleet. Bazargan border terminal which is placed in this province is the main gate for Iran and Europe trade and in fact is one of the major Asia – Europe connection rings.

Technical features

Main element in Bazargan border terminal is the waiting hall which is constructed in the closest place to zero border point and is provided integrity of passengers and vehicles passage by predicted connective ways. As the same facilities in Turkish side, passengers may enter from a same entrance to this complex and after doing their official ceremonies may exit to other country by a same exit.
Bazargan border terminal’s first step project includes passenger hall with related area which is constructed with 4600 m2 infrastructure and about 18 Billion Rials costs.
To facilitate and accelerate official ceremonies of passengers 4 entrance and 4 exit paths are predicted in passenger hall in which final passport control operation is performed quickly and carefully with computer equipments.
Next construction operation steps include trade center complex construction for custom affairs relate to goods entrance and exit and vehicle and transit, import and export goods release. Trade complex is predicted farther to passenger hall in mentioned plans.
Also this terminal benefits the art of the state technical facilities and in order to facilitate and accelerate passage in border point is designed and constructed with two entrance and exit gates and with separated bus and truck path.
